Here at Seaford North we have a hands on approach to Science. Students from Foundation to Grade 6 are involved in specialist science classes and participate in inquiry lessons with class teachers.
Our science curriculum immerses children in biological, chemical, physical and earth sciences at each year level.
There is a strong focus on developing scientific inquiry skills where students explore phenomena before explanations are imposed. This promotes the thrill of discovery rather than just the delivery of facts. The students work towards developing the skills of: questioning and predicting, planning and conducting investigations, processing and analysing data and information, evaluating and communicating their ideas, methods and results.
We also make full use of our amazing location next to the wetlands, beach and Kananook creek as well as our extensive grounds and native surroundings.
